COVID-19 Relief

The sudden unplanned total lockdown announced by the government in March 2019 brought with it misery and suffering to scores of people all over India.

When everyone was holed up in their homes scared of the virus, White Doves was the first organization in Mangalore City to get down to work by providing cooked food to the migrant labourers and destitute on the streets.

There were scores of people who had no source of income, no food to eat, and who were left to fend for themselves.

Every day White Doves Team would go around the city and surrounding areas providing food to people who were not able to procure food grains due to the lockdown restrictions.

White Doves supplied cooked food packets to destitute on the streets, migrant labourers from the states of U.P., Orissa,Jharkhand, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Tamilnadu and Maharashtra as also migrant labours from Bagalkote, Chickmagalur, Gadag, Koppala, Shimoga, Bengaluru, Bijapur, Haveri of Karnataka.

Over 74,000 cooked meals were provided in relief to the suffering.

Dry Rations containing rice, wheat flour, sugar, salt, cooking oil, dal, sambhar powder, tea powder, vegetables and onions in sufficient quantity so as to suffice for a week were also distributed to the needy.

Over 4500 people benefited from the Dry Rations distributed by White Doves.

White Doves supplied 250 nos dual purpose P.P.E. Kits/ Raincoats to the Hassan District Police Department at the request of the Superintendent of Police, Hassan District

White Doves was taking care of the destitute at the Shelters setup by the District Administration and provided them with 3 times meals as well as clothes, toiletries and masks to take care of their personal hygiene.
